Our philosophies
It takes a lot of awareness and research to develop an appropriate and
meaningful philosophy for children. We have found that children need to know they have
rights and feelings, and that they can be taught the difference between the two.
Our philosophy about sharing is a good example. We do not
enforce sharing because it originates from a developmental stage, then a
feeling, then an action. When a child is not coerced, manipulated
or forced, he truly has a choice to make. The choice he makes will
allow the child to feel empowered and successful.
Teaching children the skill of making choices is one basis for
Esperanza's philosophies. You'll discover more from the links that
follow.
