Esperanza policies: Arrivals
Dropping your child off at school is
one of the biggest contributing factors towards the success of your child’s
day (and probably yours as well). If you are experiencing separation
issues in the morning, please call us immediately so that we may help ensure a positive and healthy start to your and your child’s
day. |
|
1. |
Be sure you are emotionally ready to say good-bye and walk out.
Children sense indecision on your fear of leaving. When you hand your
child over to the teachers, be sure you completely make the transfer. |
|
2. |
It is not helpful to linger in the classroom
when your child is experiencing separation issues. Instead, establish a routine to
follow each day so that your child will develop a secure feeling during
this time. Give your child a kiss and verbally let him/her know that you
will see them later. When separation issues exist, it is not beneficial to
hold them for a long period or pick them back up after already putting
them down. It is only an additional separation step for them. |
|
3. |
Never leave without saying good-bye. Be sure your
child sees you go. We will hold them, comfort and redirect them if they
are upset. |
|
4. |
Always sign in and out in the Sign-In Book in your
child’s house. |
|
5. |
Check the Daily Log, located in each of the Sign-In
Books. Parents are encouraged to leave messages there for teachers
if you do not have the opportunity to talk in person. Also, all injuries
will be recorded there.
|
|
You may call us at any time to check on your child, even if it is the
first thing you do when you get to the office.

Esperanza policies that have helped our programs succeed. |
